just a quickie ;)

Wow! The music video was incredible! Honestly the most tiring day of my whole holidays, but the most fun :P Just writing to say I filmed mine and David's day, and will be editing it together on his laptop, when I get a chance, and show you how it went! I started doing make-up from 10-1 and then any touch-ups needed, and had lots of compliments on it :) Stay tuned for new video!

planning is everything.

So it suddenly hits me that the music video is 4 days away.
I still need new mascaras for the actors, batteries for my camera and most importantly of all, baby wipes!
As my boyfriend sleeps in my bed, I'm up all night thinking up ideas for the lead character, a girl who uses a boy, although he really likes her, she pushes her friend away and then everyone sees what she's really like. A nasty bitch, clearly. All of this in one music video!

So for this lead character I've been asked to make her look early 20's, and sexy. I thought a classic teel and deep green coloured smoked eye, with flawless bronzed skin and a natural glossed lip.

So I sat in my bathroom with all my make-up around me
, still listening to David's snoring, and started to have a play around!

I started by applying a thin layer of foundation over the eye, to even out the skin tone slightly and prime the eye, then started with my base which was a liquid eye liner in a metallic bright green, I blended this all over the lid, then used Bourjois 'Noir 07' which is a deep black with green sparkles running through it.
I packed this colour all over the lid up to the crease and blended out.
I then took my Sleek palette in 'Storm' (which sadly I am running out of) and took the beautiful teel green shimmery colour that is next to the blue, and put this on the inner half of the lid.
Then smoked out the crease by blending with the matte black from the 'Storm' palette.
After all this, I took a clean wet wipe, wrapped around my index finger and wiped from underneath the eye upwards, in a sweeping motion, then the same but along the top sweeping downwards, this creates a clean slick boarder for the shadow.
I highlighted under the brow and around the entire eye with Bourjois 'Beige Rose 08' tight lined with black eye liner from No 7 and finished by grooming through the brows, and applying a deep brown powder combed through them.
Easy! Simple smokey green eye, but with a defined outline, perfect for the music video, I just hope the actor agrees!

What's coming up!

Ok so I've been away from my laptop for a while, avoiding any real work, and playing on polyvore! (picture above) but have some great things lined up.
I recently did a shoot for another photographer (Leonie Wilson) who is building up a portfolio on her website for EPQ, much like I am.
I am now established on her website as her make-up artist! http://leoniewilsonphotography.weebly.com/

I have also been asked, by PanicPlastic (C) to do the make up for the cast of a music video, this is a more high-budget shoot which will be a great experience.
The setting is like a big party, in an abandoned barn, and our film crew have worked on shows like X factor and Top Gear.

I also have a new camera, so I will be filming clips from backstage at the music video shoot and take plenty of photos of the make-up!

wedding!

On July 31st 2010, my lovely cousin Alex married his girlfriend of 10 years!
They met in school at the age of 15, and have been together ever since. It was the perfect white wedding and the bride looked stunning.
This is a photo of my family and I waiting outside the church, it was also my birthday that day and I got lots of lovely presents! My best friends got me a beautiful pink make-up carry case! I got a lot of make-up from David, and his mum, and a new camera from my parents!
It was a great weekend, full of love, family, and wine!!
