Behind the Scenes (c) Michael Sweeney
Last week I was lucky enough to work with Milletti films (c) again, as their make-up artist for an exciting new Short Film called Trust, written by Sam Milletti and Michael Sweeney http://www.millettifilms.com/
It follows the story between Steve and Debz, who find refuge in their friendship with one another, after their troubled home life.

Chelsea is my new obsession...
Gossip, high fashion and non-stop drama from its gorgeous yet slightly fantasised characters, 'Made in Chelsea' seems to have tapped into everything I want out of a reality TV show.
In a world where you look as though you've just stepped out of a Burberry shoot at all times, and everyone you know is a Brazilian model or in the diamond business, it follows a group of wealthy-for-no-reason 20 somethings, as they casually sail through life in their Chelsea apartments.
Sipping cristal and arguing over what designer gown they should wear next, its the perfect antidote to the less attractive, less exclusive and less orange 'The Only Way is Essex.'
The lead girl, Caggie, humble and pretty, stuck in a long term friendship with childhood sweetheart Spencer, who is of course, inevitably in love with her. The only thing stopping their happiness is Funda, the drop dead Brazilian model, and her tiny hand bag sized pooch.
Along with friends like Hugo, Ollie, Gabbie and Binks, this show does not disappoint if you need a quick fix of stylish looks, indulgent gossip, or tips on how to screw up a relationship or two, Made in Chelsea always delivers.
I cannot wait to see how the stories unravel in the 8 part series on E4, as we all dig deeper into their superficial, and clearly scripted lives.

the end of an era!
Wow so it's only just really occurred to me that I will finish college in a matter of weeks! This upper 6th year has gone so quickly but I can't wait to finish my exams and have an entire summer of relaxing and having fun.
I've met some amazing people at college, also some who did not turn out to be so nice in the end, but overall there's no way I can forget my time at Godalming.
Recently I've not been getting a lot done, we had our long easter break, and then the royal wedding(which I was addicted to!) bank holidays and I've basically spent my time sitting in the sun, doing nothing, probably not the best way to use my time seeing as my first exam is in 2 weeks!
I've also been meeting up with some old friends which has been really nice, and then finally I've started the dreaded 'Student Finance' so I can possibly afford to go to University. So for now I'll just keep studying so I can get where I want to be, and forget the past. Life Goes On.

Amnesia!
Yesterday, I was invited to do the make-up for a very exciting new project by Milletti Films (http://www.millettifilms.com/) "Amnesia" a new, experimental fashion web series.
We first started off in the bar of Elstead pavilion, then moved onto Elstead moat, it was a scorching day and we all had to keep hydrated, thank you Sam for reminding me :P
The day went really well and even though everyone was pushed for time, everything was just about finished.
All the photographs were taken by Michael Sweeney (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Michael-Sweeney-Photography/118896538137172?ref=ts) who took some gorgeous shots of all of us 'behind the scenes' which I'll put up on my pages.
Overall such a fun day, we had a lot of laughs and I cannot wait to start on episode 2!
here it is on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/user/AmnesiaOnlineSeries
Please go and check it out and give it all your support!

A tough few weeks.
So it's been quite a while since I last posted, I've been so busy over the past few weeks I've literally not found the time to do anything on this blog, sorry!
I first had a load of college deadlines which had to be met very quickly, so I've spent a lot of my time completing coursework, and perfecting my portfolio.
I have also been through a tough break up in my relationship, which has now fortunately finished! I am now very happy moving on, after a lot of hurt that has been going on in my life for the past few weeks, but I'm back to normal now.
After all the pain of that, I went to a University interview and portfolio review of my top choice Uni, and I got in!!
I'm so pleased as I thought I didn't have a chance after talking to the other girls there and about how much artwork they have, I was getting worried, but I'm so relieved I got in, it's exactly the type of good news I was needing.
It's now easter and I'm having to knuckle down and revise as when I get back to college, I have my final exams, then an entire summer to look forward to :)
I have learnt a lot in these few weeks, things change, and people who you think are one thing, turn out to be something completely different, but you have to experience the bad things in life to appreciate the good, which is what I intend on doing from now on...

A Benefit Binge.
Whilst in America I probably got a little too carried away in Sephora (as we don't have it back in the U.K) I decided that I'd like to try more Benefit products, as I think it's horrendously expensive here! I'd been using my M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid since before Christmas and I've found that it's just drying my skin out waaaay too much, and more coverage than I need, so I decided to go for a tinted moisturizer.
'You Rebel' "A definitely different tinted moisturizer" does what it says on the tin, it's so light, but still with a hint of coverage, smells good and is very moisturizing, the perfect anti-dote to a long term wearer of Studio Fix Fluid.
The two sets "Stay Put" and "Sephora exclusive" contain Benefit's best sellers, and they were only about $10 each, that's about £6.15!! Which is crazy because a bottle of High Beam is around £17.50 in the UK I think.
In the two sets I got; Stay Don't Stray eye shadow/concealer primer, Erase Paste concealer, and a creaseless cream shadow in "R.S.V.P", Benetint lip and cheek stain, Posie Tint lip and cheek stain and High Beam highlighter cream.
Lastly I had to pick up "Hoola" bronzer, a blogger and youtuber who I follow closely, Tanya Burr (Pixi2woo) says she couldn't live without it, and as I trust her opinion on good make-up, I thought I should try it, and it has now become a staple in my routine.
Also from Sephora I bought the round top mineral buffing kabuki brush, which I originally used with foundation but found it wasn't working, so now use it with bronzer, and the angles contour brush which is so soft I use it for my finishing/setting powder.
Barry M Nail Effects Paint review.
There's been a lot of hype about the Barry M Nail Effects and so I thought I'd give it a try! It's £3.99 in Superdrug (a little more expensive than the regular Nail Paints from Barry M) and for someone who does next to nothing to their nails, it's an easy and quick way of getting a cool pattern on them.
The nail varnish comes out like a regular black that you paint over any colour you like (preferably something bright otherwise it won't show up) and in a few seconds it dries and starts to crack, leaving this 'broken glass' of 'crackled' finish.
It is cool, although a little messy, but I'm sure I will get use out of it, but it can become a little same-y because you get basically the same look every time, there's not much variation.
But for now, I am enjoying it and think it's a fun way to add something interesting to your nails.

Back to England
So after a ridiculously long journey, I arrived in Los Angeles, it in total took us 12 hours, and we were all very tired!
The first day was a bit of a disaster as our group leader Tina had told us to 'explore' and just hop on a few buses to get into the center of Hollywood, 4 hours, 4 buses and a 30 minute walk later we actually made it to 'The Grove' a very prestigious and expensive shopping mall Hollywood.
Unfortunately after hours of shopping and sight-seeing, my friends and I lost the group, and had to make our own way back through town, even more unfortunate for us, the heavens opened and there was torrential rain all over L.A which we were stuck right in the middle of. Seeing as there had been so much confusion getting there, we could barely remember the way home, but luckily for us, everyone was extremely friendly and took pity on us, letting us travel for free, and guiding us back to our hotel in El Segundo.
Our second day was more structured and we visited the Hollywood museum, I found this fascinating as they actually have Marilyn Monroe's make up, and Max Factor's original collection, along with memorabilia and clothes from famous movies.
We also visited the Kodak theatre, where The Oscars will be held in a few days, so the middle of Hollywood Blvd. was all blocked off for cars.
Our trip also included tours of celebrity houses, with "That's how we get down" Mike the tour guide, a general tour of Santa Monica, Beverley Hills and Hollywood, an open air bus tour of the city, a trip to Paramount Studios to see real life film sets, a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood, a visit to Venice beach (where Baywatch was filmed) and finally shopping in the Beverley Center Mall!
Overall the trip was brilliant and the weather did brighten up eventually, the only problem I had was the food and that I found it difficult to find anything uhmm...not fried? Oh well, I was there for the experience but I am glad to be back to my dad's cooking :)

L.A!!!!
Ok so just a quick post, tomorrow I will be boarding on Virgin Atlantic to make the long trek across the pond, and into Los Angeles!! I am so excited as I have never been to America before (I'm more of a European/Middle Eastern kinda girl) nevertheless, I am looking forward to it :)
I'll take looooads of photos, and upload them when I get home.

Love is in the air!
So it's the weekend before Valentines Day, and everyone who has someone should be loved up with them, except me because David is still in Uni :) Never mind! I'm having a Valentines Day with my girls :)
Of course I have been flooded with the endless presents and cards....Actually just a few so far, and all from my mum! (They weren't given to me half eaten)
I also decided to do 2 different Valentines looks, one more natural for maybe a day time, then sexed (if that's a word?) it up a bit for the evening. I used M.A.C rebel lipstick, E.L.F gel liner on a M.A.C 208 brush and some NYC Bronzer, enjoy! (Sorry for the bad quality photos, haven't got the best camera)

Bold, bright and daring.
Any trace of the sun being just about visible in the sky, and I think it's time to bring out the bright lips again! These are my absolute favourite bright/bold lipstick colours, even though I wear them whenever :) From left to right they are
- Chanel's Rouge Coco Hydrating Créme lip colour in 22 "Paris"
- Rimmel London Colour show off lipstick in 220 "Shocking pink"
- M.A.C's Satin finish lipstick in "Rebel"
- M.A.C's lipstick in Girl about Town (I think that's what it's called, the label has come off, and I think the finish is creamsheen)
- Yves Saint Laurent's Rouge Pur in 52 (this lipstick doesn't appear to have a name on the packaging)
I already have a review on the Chanel lipstick I got for Christmas somewhere on this blog, so you can go look at that one.
The best thing about the Rimmel London lipstick is the smell, it's fruity, and sweet, and I'd rather smell it than actually wear it, but for the times when I decide to use it, it gives great colour pay off, and very long lasting without drying your lips, brilliant for summer! M.A.C's Rebel lipstick also has a 'Lipstick of the moment' review, this is such a beautiful deep purple, great to wear with faux fur I find, and anything dark, great for cold weather.
My other M.A.C lipstick was bought a while ago, which is why the label has rubbed off, I got this for my prom when I was 15, as it matched my dress perfectly, it stays on all day which is great, and has the classic sugary vanilla smell from M.A.C lipsticks.
Finally the Yves Saint Laurent lipstick is, in one word, beautiful. But, very 'daring' it looks pink in the photograph but it is most definitely the brightest neon orange I've ever seen, matte finish, long lasting, smells great, and love the gold packaging, such a winner!
Nude lipsticks: The good, the bad, and the ugly.
There's no doubt that these 5 lipsticks have been used a lot, but as 'blanked out' lips look is getting fairly out-dated, and the return of the bold colours is back, I've decided to put these lipsticks to the back of my drawer, but before I do, I thought I'd do a quick review of them...From left to right they are:
- GOSH Velvet touch lipstick in 134 "Darling"
- E.L.F Mineral lipstick in "Natural Nymph"
- Revlon matte lipstick in 001 "Nude Attitude"
- Rimmel London Moisture Renew lipstick in 700 "Nude delight"
- Finally another E.L.F Mineral lipstick in "Nicely Nude"
First is the GOSH, glossy finish, not great staying power, but it has a nice scent to it, kind of like M.A.C ones. The E.L.F. lipstick, this is whiter than you think, it's very drying and VERY matte, probably my first ever full on nude lipstick, looking back, big mistake if you have any warm tones in your skin, just makes you look dead!
Revlon next, really nice peachy nude, which I prefer to the white based ones, very matte so I'd wear a lip balm underneath to stop you from getting a really dry finish, but this does also mean it has good staying power. Rimmel London Moisture Renew lipsticks are more like tinted balms to be honest, not great colour pay off, or staying power, so something just to slick on every now and again, without needing a mirror.
Finally the second E.L.F isn't really a nude at all, unless you have naturally very pigmented lips, then this will just match your natural lip colour, it's pretty but nothing special, just an every day girlie pink/peach.

Hair extensions!
I'm so happy I bought the Foxy Locks deluxe 20 inch hair extensions in 'Mahogany', they are so beautiful!
Foxy Locks use the best quality Remy Human Hair, it's the thickest and strongest hair you can buy. The only problem would be is that there is SO many wefts of hair I believe you get 4 clip wefts (x2) 3 clip wefts (x2) 2 clip wefts (x2) and 1 clip wefts (x4) which adds up to 160 g of hair!!
They are quite heavy so take some getting used to, and learning the best place to put them around your own head takes some practice, but once you've got the hang of it, they are amazing, and I've had so many compliments :)
You wash them every few weeks and have to brush them every time you use them, just like your normal hair, and because they're human hair, you can heat style them along with your own hair, which is the key to getting them to blend into your own hair.
Another thing is the colour is such a perfect match, I used Live colour XXL in red on top of my brown hair so that is would go dark red/brown, which matches the extensions really well.
Overall I give them 8/10, as they are beautiful and thick but I find them quite heavy on my head. Thank you Foxy Locks!

Accessorize - Golden Sand Baked Highlighter
I've just started using the new range in Superdrug from Accessorize, they have beautiful packaging and (their blushers are a total copy of Benefit ones!) When I came across this 'baked' bronzer, which is remarkably similar to the M.A.C MSF's (Mineralized Skin Finish.)
For £20.50 you can buy your MSF from M.A.C and only get 10g of product, whereas in Superdrug you can spend £6.00 for 12.5g of product, and it's basically the same thing!
After looking at the website for Accessorize, I have seen they have a wide range of these baked bronzer/highlighter/blushers, they even have the domed effect like M.A.C
For people who love a highlight but still want a matte finish, these are perfect. I've used them with a few different brushes but I find a duo fibre (M.A.C 187) brush works best as you can really buff the product over cheeks/cheek bones.

So as usual my mum was sucked into any big display campaign in Superdrug, and decided to buy the new 'The Falsies Volum Express' mascara, and as usual, she hated it after one flick of her lashes and gave it to me :)
I've only used it once, and it did go really clumpy, but I did layer it on top of day-old mascara at the time, so probably not the fairest way to test.
It has a 'spooned' brush (curved) which is meant to build volume and lengthen, giving you a 'falsies' effect. We'll wait and see...

The obsession continues...
for £1 I couldn't say no to this sanitizing kit I saw today. Perfect for make-up clean ups on the go!
Everyone loves a bit of Chanel.
So to add to my wonderful and vast collection of lipsticks, I was given 'Paris' number 22 lipstick from the Rouge Coco collection from Chanel, I have only worn it once, on Christmas day as it is VERY special, and ridiculously beautiful, I suggest every make-up addict has this in their collection!
I wear this lipstick usually with natural false lashes, and a colour like 'Brun' eye shadow from M.A.C, or just a simple matte brown through the crease, you can also add some shimmer to the brow bone and cheek and some thick black eye liner.
Lipstick of the moment.
It's cold outside, we're seeing warm and rich colours in fashion, so my lipstick of the moment has to be 'Rebel' by M.A.C. It can be worn lightly as a stain, or combined with a lip pencil and applied with a lip brush, it becomes a strong, bold berry purple. Brilliant on darker skins (NC20's + in M.A.C skin terms) Although I border on a 15/20 you can still make it work!
I love to wear this with 'Sketch' from M.A.C on the eyes ( picture above) lightly through the crease, possibly some eye liner if it's an evening look, or just mascara for the daytime. Please excuse the crappy nail varnish in the first photo.
Stepping out to the big wide world...
In my post I found that St. Mary's University in Twickenham had invited me to an audition with them! They asked for a marked essay, a theatre review, and a 2 minute monologue, this seemed like the most daunting thing I'd ever heard, but after a lot of will I won't I, I was talked into going by my Dad.
As I walked into my interview the first thing to tutor asked was to see my blog! Caught off guard I apologized for not updating it for a while, after a great chat I went to my workshop and then my audition.
Amazingly I heard back from them a day later offering me a place at the University, after being told I would have to wait up to 3 weeks!
I am yet to hear back from other Universities so am still waiting with my fingers crossed for more offers!
Missed me?
Ok yes, it's been a while, and I'm sorry! After summer 2010 for the music video, it was back to work for me, starting a new year at college and finally got a stable part time job working for a clothes company.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BopoK4MUxy8 <<>
So after the summer I started getting more jobs in, and was approached by Unzip Media http://www.unzipmedia.co.uk/ I was given the amazing opportunity to work in Channel 4, for a new scheme called 'Kickstart' that gives young people the chance to do work experience within Channel 4.
We were shooting an advert for this new scheme on the website, and although a make-up artist's job is to turn up, do what needs doing, then sit there on set just in case some emergency powdering is needed, and not much else, it was still a lot of fun! And I made some good impressions which will lead to more experience.
