Hair extensions!

I'm so happy I bought the Foxy Locks deluxe 20 inch hair extensions in 'Mahogany', they are so beautiful!

Foxy Locks use the best quality Remy Human Hair, it's the thickest and strongest hair you can buy. The only problem would be is that there is SO many wefts of hair I believe you get 4 clip wefts (x2) 3 clip wefts (x2) 2 clip wefts (x2) and 1 clip wefts (x4) which adds up to 160 g of hair!!

They are quite heavy so take some getting used to, and learning the best place to put them around your own head takes some practice, but once you've got the hang of it, they are amazing, and I've had so many compliments :)

You wash them every few weeks and have to brush them every time you use them, just like your normal hair, and because they're human hair, you can heat style them along with your own hair, which is the key to getting them to blend into your own hair.

Another thing is the colour is such a perfect match, I used Live colour XXL in red on top of my brown hair so that is would go dark red/brown, which matches the extensions really well.

Overall I give them 8/10, as they are beautiful and thick but I find them quite heavy on my head. Thank you Foxy Locks!

Accessorize - Golden Sand Baked Highlighter

I've just started using the new range in Superdrug from Accessorize, they have beautiful packaging and (their blushers are a total copy of Benefit ones!) When I came across this 'baked' bronzer, which is remarkably similar to the M.A.C MSF's (Mineralized Skin Finish.)

For £20.50 you can buy your MSF from M.A.C and only get 10g of product, whereas in Superdrug you can spend £6.00 for 12.5g of product, and it's basically the same thing!

After looking at the website for Accessorize, I have seen they have a wide range of these baked bronzer/highlighter/blushers, they even have the domed effect like M.A.C

For people who love a highlight but still want a matte finish, these are perfect. I've used them with a few different brushes but I find a duo fibre (M.A.C 187) brush works best as you can really buff the product over cheeks/cheek bones.

So as usual my mum was sucked into any big display campaign in Superdrug, and decided to buy the new 'The Falsies Volum Express' mascara, and as usual, she hated it after one flick of her lashes and gave it to me :)

I've only used it once, and it did go really clumpy, but I did layer it on top of day-old mascara at the time, so probably not the fairest way to test.

It has a 'spooned' brush (curved) which is meant to build volume and lengthen, giving you a 'falsies' effect. We'll wait and see...

The obsession continues...

for £1 I couldn't say no to this sanitizing kit I saw today. Perfect for make-up clean ups on the go!

Everyone loves a bit of Chanel.

So to add to my wonderful and vast collection of lipsticks, I was given 'Paris' number 22 lipstick from the Rouge Coco collection from Chanel, I have only worn it once, on Christmas day as it is VERY special, and ridiculously beautiful, I suggest every make-up addict has this in their collection!

I wear this lipstick usually with natural false lashes, and a colour like 'Brun' eye shadow from M.A.C, or just a simple matte brown through the crease, you can also add some shimmer to the brow bone and cheek and some thick black eye liner.

Lipstick of the moment.

It's cold outside, we're seeing warm and rich colours in fashion, so my lipstick of the moment has to be 'Rebel' by M.A.C. It can be worn lightly as a stain, or combined with a lip pencil and applied with a lip brush, it becomes a strong, bold berry purple. Brilliant on darker skins (NC20's + in M.A.C skin terms) Although I border on a 15/20 you can still make it work!

I love to wear this with 'Sketch' from M.A.C on the eyes ( picture above) lightly through the crease, possibly some eye liner if it's an evening look, or just mascara for the daytime. Please excuse the crappy nail varnish in the first photo.

Stepping out to the big wide world...

In my post I found that St. Mary's University in Twickenham had invited me to an audition with them! They asked for a marked essay, a theatre review, and a 2 minute monologue, this seemed like the most daunting thing I'd ever heard, but after a lot of will I won't I, I was talked into going by my Dad.

As I walked into my interview the first thing to tutor asked was to see my blog! Caught off guard I apologized for not updating it for a while, after a great chat I went to my workshop and then my audition.

Amazingly I heard back from them a day later offering me a place at the University, after being told I would have to wait up to 3 weeks!

I am yet to hear back from other Universities so am still waiting with my fingers crossed for more offers!

Missed me?

Ok yes, it's been a while, and I'm sorry! After summer 2010 for the music video, it was back to work for me, starting a new year at college and finally got a stable part time job working for a clothes company.

So after the summer I started getting more jobs in, and was approached by Unzip Media http://www.unzipmedia.co.uk/ I was given the amazing opportunity to work in Channel 4, for a new scheme called 'Kickstart' that gives young people the chance to do work experience within Channel 4.

We were shooting an advert for this new scheme on the website, and although a make-up artist's job is to turn up, do what needs doing, then sit there on set just in case some emergency powdering is needed, and not much else, it was still a lot of fun! And I made some good impressions which will lead to more experience.
